His foot seemed okay enough. Whatever she'd done, it did seem to have helped. And before she even did the magic thing to his foot she'd protected him. He was trying to trust that that all meant she was some kind of good witch, here to keep him from getting eaten by zomblins.
"Because they hurt."
He held out his bloody hands to her like one would hold them out to some kind of potentially ravenous animal, clearly doing it as an experimental exercise to see if she was really helping or planned to use the glowy magic to do something crazy like swap his hands with his ears or something.
The glass had almost worked its way all the way out on its own but the cuts hadn't closed up yet.
