Dick had, of course, missed the first time he'd pulled the paperbag trick on Tim. But that didn't mean he hadn't heard about it. Or that it had been long enough that he couldn't recognize that voice.
But he HADN'T expected the voice. Hadn't expected anybody to be around. He turned, dropping into a crouch with the sticks at the ready, face gone deeply impassive to keep from showing just how surprised he was.
It took a moment for the rest of it to filter in and Dick's stance loosened slightly and he rose from the crouch. Face still mostly impassive, but there was a slight twitch at the corners of his mouth that said he was trying NOT to start laughing. "You really don't sound anything like him, you know."
