They'd drugged him. Lyle was only realizing that now as the drugs were wearing off, but they had definitely drugged him. That left him with two questions: why had the totalitarian government that had kidnapped him away from his team drugged him, and where the sprock was Brainy?
Why they had dumped him in an old-timey suburban neighborhood and given him back his flight ring (because it was his flight ring, or at least one of the Legion's flight rings; being the inventor of the sprocking things, he could tell the difference between a real one and the fake replacement they'd crammed onto his finger in a heartbeat) were also important questions to consider. But he could hammer them out after he'd answered one and two. Especially two.
He raised the ring to his lips, staring around at the houses around him in the pre-dawn light, waiting for something to come out of the shadows and attack him.
"Calling all Legionnaires in range. Can anyone hear me? Brainiac 5, are you there?"
