With their combined efforts, the mass of fearlings decreased slightly in size, but that was about the best they were going to get. In attacks like this on newly arrived myths, the stream tended to be never-ending, due to the enemy's attempts to make sure the new myth wasn't brought in safely.

That meant the goal was never beating them - it was extraction.

Especially since the turtle guy seemed to be slowing down. His myth healing might prevent him from dying but cold was cold. Barring the invulnerable types like him and Cass, most of them were still susceptible to slowing down in the cold, even if it didn't kill them. And this guy seemed to be slowing down even faster than most.

So that meant they really needed to make a quick escape.
