[LN] Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble
Upon arrival to Burgess, the others found themselves in the middle of a mess. Children all wandering towards the witches' cabin in the woods, surrounding by a magical dome that didn't let in any adults, the adults all wandering towards the party at the local community college, where the adults were under a spell meant to cause them to dance themselves to death.
The songs, fortunately, had stopped by the time they arrived, but with all the kids inside the dome and all the adults entranced at the party, they had to find some other way to break the spells aside from brute force.
Which meant killing the witches.
Fortunately they had time - at least according to the talking cat that appeared when they tried to break into the dome, claiming to be an enemy of the witches. Apparently peeking inside meant he saw that the spell was draining the life from Jack and the other young myths because they had a surplus of it as myths. Jack in particular had a ton of life energy due to his long unlife and the belief the kids had in him, and it meant that it'd take a long time for the spell to drain the life from all the kids to kill them. It was sucking them all dry, but while Jack bore the brunt of the spell, and then the other myth children that were part of the team next, all of the kids would live.
Until he rain dry. Once he was nearly tapped, the other myths kids all would run close to empty, too, and then the mortal children - and they'd all die at the same time.
Which mean they all had a very important task to accomplish - alone. Other than the team members that had shown up, backup from the Pole wasn't coming, since all the others were out dealing with putting out other fires around the world or not ready to leave the Pole and fight yet.

She leans back on the dumpster, flinching every few seconds when a round pings the ground too close. "If he can phase like that... going in headfirst isn't gonna work out. We need to catch him off-guard."

There's a sort of crackling sound from behind them right before a red-and-teal blur flashes past them and comes to a halt just shy of the horseman, letting off a spray of energy as it stops that, for a moment, causes the horseman's horse to stumble back, and the horsemn himself to pause and waver in a way that would probably mean he was shaking his head to clear it. If he... had a head.
Once stopped, the blur reveals itself to be a woman in her 20s with short red hair, an oversized leather jacket over a tattered ballgown, and a large teal... sword. Thing. It looks more like the inner circuitry of a USB drive than a sword, and it doesn't seem to have a sharpened edge, and it's almost as large as she is.
Red has no idea where she and the Transistor have ended up, but this seemed potentially deadly enough for the teenage girl and... whatever the green guy was... that she felt getting involved before getting her bearings was probably the right choice.
She jumps back as soon as she's come to a full stop, tactically retreating so she can actually figure out what's happening now that the initial gunspray was interrupted, and glances over at the kids behind the dumpster and jerks a head toward the horseman.
He's already on the verge of recovering, so they've only got moments to launch any sort of surprise attack.

He had no idea who this person was or where they came from, but they seemed to be on their side.
Raph shrugged.
"I'll take it," he said, making one quick glance out to get a grasp on the situation and running out. Before he even got out of their hiding spot, he was already throwing a handful of ninja stars, that all hit their mark, thunking into the horseman's chest and shoulders, making him stagger back.

Her attempt simply causes uneven terrain, however, since asphalt and concrete don't quite behave like normal earth. Still useful, however.
"Keep him off-balance!"

She slams the Transistor down, sending a burst of energy at the horseman, then follows it up with a ricocheting energy ball. It occurs to her that she probably shouldn't have done the ricochet the moment after she fires it off, and ends up having to plaster herself to the ground in order to avoid her own attack.
Whoops. Sorry!

The inky specter of a ghostly horse ran out in front of him, temporarily blocking him from their attacks, absorbing whatever they aimed his way.
That meant they couldn't even touch him but it also meant they had a moment's reprieve as well.
Raph ran for a nearby fire hydrant, striking hard with his sai to knock off the cap so that it started gushing water into the road.
"Korra, can you use your bendy thing to make fog?"
He knew she could do things with water but not the full extent of it and he had an idea...

And then, there was water. Lots of it. And Raph yelling an idea about fog. That, she could do. Her form was a little rough compared to some waterbending, but it was more about efficiency than anything. Pull up a mass of water, and then shift its state, engulfing the area in a hazy mist, mostly directed at their headless friend.
...hopefully his lack of a head wouldn't backfire against them.

And if it doesn't work out, she's crouched and building up her energy to dart in again.
Also this tag is not over a month old, you're imagining things.
