[LN] Books! The Greatest Weapons in the World!
After getting his brother settled (and didn't THAT take a while?), Sam retreated to the library. After telling Dean where it was and how to get there. Leaving his brother to his own devices was possibly not the best idea in the entire world, no, but he did make Dean promise not to shoot first before finding out about things.
The library soothed him in ways that so much about this world couldn't, though it's frustrating and enlightening at turns. He tended to spend a lot of the time there when they weren't on a mission out of hopes that the key to what they were dealing with was in there, somewhere.
He just needed to look a bit more, flip through a few more books. Maybe.
For now, Sam found himself in one of the comfortable chairs, legs stretched out as he worked his way through another volume of mythology. And even though he didn't have to sleep, that didn't mean his eyes weren't drooping a bit. But he was completely out in the open and had gotten so used to other people being around that he didn't even jump when they came in. Just looked up to see who had arrived before going back to his book.

He took the book out of his vest and walked over.
"My myth power seems to be having this book bound to me so it appears with me again even if I leave it somewhere and it seems to be some kind of eldritch tome with lots of information on myths and spells that work in this universe." He dragged a table over towards the man as he spoke. "The evil government agents we ran into while saving those ninja turtle guys seemed to recognize it so I think it might be something that existed here but my myth power somehow magically called it to me. I think we can use it to fight Kuk but I haven't been able to decipher all of it yet and I need help working on it."
He plopped the book down so that Sam could briefly see what was on the cover and opened it up.
"Also a demon triangle from my universe was talking to me and my sister as we fell through to this one and gave us cryptic warnings about the end of the universe."
Realizing he hadn't introduced himself, he said, "Oh yeah, I'm Dipper Pines."
Introduction over, time to work now.

He stared for a moment before setting his book aside so that he could lean forward and look over the book. "Uh...right. Okay, yeah. I prefer Sam to 'brainy myth research guy', though it's definitely a fairly nice thing to hear."
It was nicer than some of the shit that Dean said about him, after all.
The rest of it, Sam just does his best to let it wash over him as he tried to pick out the important information. "Okay. I'm...going to come back to the whole 'demon triangle' thing. And possibly the evil government agents." He'd missed that, but only just. "Okay. I'm used to translating things, though it's not one of my myth abilities." Which was too bad, because that could have been useful.

He went through a few pages and pointed to a spell that did have a translation in the margins. The page was covered in little droplets of what looked like dried blood.
"Even some of the ones that I have deciphered have these vague riddles explaining what the spells do and what the side effects of casting them are. I need to figure the clues out so I don't cast anything that kills me. One of them, a spell that makes it so you can give another myth a power up, apparently makes you bleed out of your eyes, ears, and nose until either someone pulls the book out of your hands or you die, unless you have enough willpower to control the spell better. It almost killed me the time I tried to use it."
Some of those droplets of brown did look a little more recent.

"Good t'have y'back, mate."
He was scratching some kind of algae out of his fur, and though he wasn't dripping enough not to belong in a library, he was pretty damp. He gave a rapid shake from ear to tail to air-dry his fur a little more before standing upright, removing his grieves to keep grooming his damp fur.
"Ran into your brother. He's a piece of work, ain't he? Between you two I might as well start introducing myself as Harvey."

No turtles with shrapnel in their shoulders, for instance. "If it's any consolation, I'm not sure how many people would get the reference."

There was a bird. Specifically, a mourning dove. It was about the size of a large dog. And it was flying into the library, a flurry of beige feathers before it landed near Sam. It looked directly at Sam. It looked for just a little too long, especially with how hard it was to read an expression on a bird.
Then looked away and started running the tip of its wing along the spines of the books, apparently trying to find something.
Forgive him for his blatant rudeness, Sam. He wasn't used to the idea that regular people (for the given sense of the word) could see him now. He just assumed that Sam had no idea he was there.

It made sense - most secret passages were behind bookshelves, in cartoons.
She waved at Sam, then went to the first bookshelf against a wall, and tried to figure out high high she should try.
"Do you know how tall Santa is?" she asked suddenly.
